A tribute by Candlelight

As the string quartets and pianists showcase their unique twist on songs in the form of classical music internationally, Candlelight are known for hosting tributes to artists such as Hanz Zimmer and Taylor Swift, performing in various cities around the world, encapsulating locals with the transformation of their favourite songs into soft ballads.

Surrounded on stage by the warm golden glow, performers transport their audience into a different dimension as they experience their most beloved tunes in a contrasting light. As the melodic tunes play, onlookers sit in silent bliss allowing the soothing pairing of the candles and performers conjure a magical experience for all.

Taking place on the Friday 21st August 2026 at Manchester Cathedral located in uk/local/ancoats/">Ancoats,  Candlelight will be performing their very own tribute to Manchester’s very own Oasis. The rock band that was formed in the city beloved city of Manchester in 1991 and had swiftly rose to fame in 1993 have blessed the world with their unique sound.  This tribute will be something special as performers will take these rock classics and allow listeners to reconnect with their beloved music through the soft notes of violins, cellos and the soothing piano.

Oasis. The band that has made a influential impact on the Britpop genre with well-known hits such as “Wonderwall” and “Don’t Look Back in Anger”. As they dominated the scene in the early 90s, their songs have still created such traction in the modern day and are one of the reasons why the city is so well known around the world.  Candlelight have made it known that this tribute is in no way affiliated with or sponsored by the artists or representatives. They are an organisation that want their audience to appreciate songs that have been celebrated for years, just with their own distinctive twist. In hopes that listeners will appreciate art through a parallel perspective that what has always been, this event will surely be a refreshing take on the Oasis classics.

The event is taking place in a prime location, Manchester Cathedral. It is one of the oldest buildings in the city as it is the first church to be constructed in the 7th century and has been well maintained and still used actively by locals and tourists that wish to learn more about its rich history and culture. Overtime, the cathedral has continuously hosted significant events and celebrations for all to participate in. During the hardship the world has endured during the Covid pandemic, they had celebrated their 600th anniversary of becoming a Collegiate Church upon which Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II had visited to mark the monumental event.

This event hosted by Candlelight will interweave two exceptional parts of Manchester’s history together. The beloved cathedral that has been looked after with the utmost respect for the past 14 centuries and the cities own rock band built within the streets of Manchester will be performed by an organisation that has put a lot of thought and passion into their craft.
