Manchester Fashion Week returns this September, bringing four days of fashion, creativity and cultural energy to the city and placing Manchester firmly in the spotlight of the UK fashion landscape. From 9–12 September 2026, Manchester Fashion Week will transform the city into a meeting point for emerging designers, established creatives, fashion professionals and audiences passionate about the future of the industry. This year’s edition is set to be its most ambitious yet, expanding across Manchester’s creative district of St John’s and incorporating venues including Campfield, VERSA Studios and the ABC Buildings. The programme combines runway shows with exhibitions, talks, presentations, networking opportunities and cultural experiences, creating an event that goes beyond the traditional fashion-week format.

( MANCHESTER FASHION WEEK ) A New Chapter for Manchester Fashion Manchester has a long-standing relationship with textiles, manufacturing and creative culture. Manchester Fashion Week is using that heritage as a starting point while looking towards the future. The 2026 programme places particular emphasis on fashion, culture, technology, education and responsible industry, reflecting the changing role of fashion within the creative economy. The organisers describe the event as a platform designed to connect the fashion ecosystem across the North while creating opportunities for emerging talent.

Among this year’s programme are runway presentations and showcases from both Northern talent and international voices. Malon Fashion is returning with an exclusive runway presentation, while IGC Fashion Uganda will bring the creativity and cultural perspective of Uganda’s fashion industry to an international audience. More Than a RunwayOne of the most interesting aspects of Manchester Fashion Week 2026 is its focus beyond the catwalk.

The programme includes conversations and events exploring the wider fashion industry, with influential voices such as designer and activist Katharine Hamnett CBE and fashion communications figure Lynne Franks OBE among those announced for the programme. For students and emerging creatives, this makes the week particularly relevant. Fashion today is no longer limited to designing garments. Styling, photography, creative direction, journalism, visual communication, sustainability and digital media all contribute to how fashion is experienced and understood.
